We live in a country that is simultaneously becoming more diverse and more divided. As clinics, health systems and even private practices look toward the future, we must consider the shifting demographics of the United States, and become more culturally aware, culturally competent and culturally representative. Being able to effectively serve our patients and their communities requires that we build unified teams that can survive and thrive in this changing world. Let's discuss how our theoretical framework on race, culture, and gender shapes every aspect of our personal lives, our work, and everyday interactions with others.
